Is this a serious question? Not sure where you live, but I've never heard of
anyone having trouble finding available 2000 sq. ft-ish homes in any metro area.
My youngest sister bought her first home a few years ago in Scottsdale, AZ. I believe it's 1750 sq. ft., with a pretty decent back yard. Her whole neighborhood is full of homes like that. No luxurious, but nice, and affordable. Are you saying there is nothing like this wherever you live?
