Intervention Needed
I'd add 3. Utah and Arizona have a regional rivalry that goes back a hundred
Years. So their fan bases overlap in a variety of ways and are probably literally related.

Not a high bar to clear for FS1 at 10am

Sep 25, 6:54am
Looks like FS1 in general sucks for viewership.

Sep 25, 7:01am
SicEm 365 had a great breakdown of channel/time slot and avg. viewership

Sep 25, 9:34am
Yeah, shocked that even CW games averaged higher than FS1

CW is just more widely accessible. That's half the battle sometimes

Hate how he says MI USC tops- look at channel and time. Granted they would do

6M for a football game is crazy good.

I’m not saying it’s not.

I've started to come around on networks/timeslots being indicative of drawing power instead of the other way around

Pretty crazy we pulled in almost as many eyeballs as Notre Dame.

FS1 numbers are not good. The time slot we play Baylor in got 195K last week.

Sep 25, 6:58am
But BYU wasn't playing in it.

Sep 25, 7:03am
None of the FS1 numbers were good.

Colorado still pulling big numbers.

Entertainment value. Even when they aren't great, its still Prime Time

Sep 25, 7:04am
That’s what I still find crazy. Last year there was the allure of maybe they could be decent.

It would be good for the Big12 for Colorado to return to their 1990s glory.
OrsoNero
Sep 25, 8:09am
But maybe only let them have 4 downs.

Sep 25, 8:25am
If he leaves will they still get viewers? I am thinking not

Shaduer is really good and Travis Hunter is absolutely amazing. Then of course

Colorado is fun to watch

What do you mean not in the same stratosphere in talent? They absolutely are

Maybe Hunter is; IMO the others are not

Bush was electric no doubt. Hunter is more talented than Bush

We talk a lot of tv number smack. Let’s see. Utah has the late night time slot

Part of it also depends on the game. Had byus game. People go to bed

This also doesn’t account for households with more than one TV 😉

Not sure if apples to apples - 1. Utah and AZ both have far larger alumni bases

All true. But Arizona doesn’t have fans.

I'd guess they'll be right about the same

I'm guessing Utah will be notably lower - actually VERY confident that it will be much lower

2 might still outrank 3. AZ is a basketball school fresh off getting drubbed.

The highest number of viewers for a noon game on FS1 last year was 900K. Average
thewaterboy
Sep 25, 8:10am
I would put us somewhere in the 700,000s
LSUcougar92
Sep 25, 8:24am
700k would be incredible. I am expecting closer to 500k myself (see below).
cougarfan84
Sep 25, 8:25am
Right. Based on channel alone, 500k viewers would be an excellent rating.

Will be interesting to see how we do on Sat. Not on a main station

I'm guessing if you polled TX CFB fans, the vast majority would pick UT or A&M.
OrsoNero
Sep 25, 8:10am
UNT might even poll higher than TCU and SMU in some pockets.
Tokolosh
Sep 25, 8:30am
That's not true. UNT is commuter school without an actual fanbase.
Baylorbears11
Sep 25, 9:36am
Baylorbears11 is correct, UNT has no sports following.
Atmospheric_Cougar
Sep 25, 11:15am
Fellas, I’m going to have to disagree with you. UNT certainly isn’t a big draw but there are some spots…

I lived in Frisco for several years... you're wrong. But Tokolosh being wrong is nothing new on this board 🙂

Sep 25, 12:17pm
I mean there's definitely some pockets where UNT polls higher...like on the UNT campus

Sep 25, 12:32pm
I think TWU polls higher on UNT's campus....

Frisco is 45 minutes from Fort Worth. More of a Dallas burb than Fort Worth burb.

My wife attended TWU... We were in Denton plenty. But thanks for providing the commute time to Frisco.

I live in DFW. It’s huge for CFB. But nobody cares about TCU or SMU. I probably see 30x more Texas and A&M gear and
yapacoug
Sep 25, 8:45am
This matches my experience while living in Dallas (within 2 miles of SMU)
reddead
Sep 25, 8:58am
TCU is the "Fort Worth" school, so they get more support out that direction.

Sep 25, 9:39am
Yeah, that's fair. But I spent a fair amount of time across the metroplex and

What was surprising was how BYU-KSU almost beat the Notre Dame game which had a much better time slot.

ND played a bad team, so not an intriguing match up. Their time slot competed with much better games.

Utah/OSU with 2.14M was surprisingly good.

Top 15 matchup on a good network. That’ll bring in solid numbers.

Sep 25, 11:15am
Yeah, solid numbers at the same time as a really close Michigan/USC game.
