Why does it matter to you whether these young men are being paid market rate for their services? They are large amounts, but the market demand is high and donors are willing to pay to support their teams. BYU is on a bigger stage and getting more exposure than ever before and that includes the church too. If BYU doesn't pay market rate for the best players, they will never be able to compete on the biggest stages.
