that she had a fever, headache, and really sore back-of-the-neck all day. We both thought it sounded like classic symptoms of meningitis. We're usually more likely to take a wait-and-see approach but everything we read said go to the ER immediately.
My brother had it when he was young and had to stay in the hospital for several days because my parents waited to bring him him. My wife's grandmother almost died due to it. We decided not to risk it due to these experiences.
So I left the house at 12:30 to pick her up and drive her to the ER so they could run some tests. Ultimately the Dr. didn't think her symptoms were strong enough to do a spinal tap. We do know for sure she doesn't have strep throat. We'll find out today if her blood draw tests positive for mono.
Can't wait to get that hospital bill!
