Very sorry, but very much disagree on the facts here -
Max was great, but all of the following are true:

- ALL of his big wins were defensive wins. BYU put up 14 pts on OU but won. The last drive was epic, but up to that point the offense failed to deliver - the fact that we COULD win on the last drive was bc the D had aced it all night.

- This carries over to Utah - two stellar defensive performances got Max a 2-1 record.. in which he literally completed 40% of his passes. His game winning drive in 07 was great - but the product of one blown coverage and one PI call. His winning TD in 09 was great - but we were in OT bc he'd played a terrible game, completing 12 of 32 passes. And of course (yikes) 5 INTs and a bad fumble in 08 at Utah.

- The 07 bowl win vs UCLA - defense held them to 16 and we won on a miraculous FG block, offense did little. 07 win vs TCU - D held them to 17.

- 08 disaster meltdowns vs TC and Florida State.

The game-winning drive vs OU in 2009 was his finest moment, IMO, but he lands behind McMahon, Bosco, Sark and maybe even Beck (TCU upset in 06 was ALL Beck, Utah 06 bigger than any single Max win).

Love Max, but he's not in the top three in this category.
