I worked in an office for 20 years and am now WFH
I commuted (30-40 minutes each way) for all those years. Many days there was an accident on I-15 that would make my commute an hour or more each way. The stress of just getting to work so that I could sit at my desk to join a conference call that I now take from home makes me laugh.

Many days I'm up at 6:30am doing work and some days I don't start until later in the morning. Some days I work into the evening and other days I'm finished by mid-afternoon. My job is to close business with my customers and hit the numbers I've been given by my leadership, not interface with colleagues in the office. I'll say that again, my job is to close revenue, not be seen in the office.

I'm in Enterprise Sales in Tech and my boss is based in Boston (remote) and each of my team members are also remote and spread throughout the U.S. I've got a great setup at home and can work in peace and also have the flexibility to get other things done as needed.

If you can't manage your time, manage yourself and manage your manager...WFH is not for you. If you can do these things, I'm a big believer that working in an office is a waste of your time.
