I'd also add that tech can be a big distraction in the classroom and in social situations
Even having a cell phone turned off but still in front of you is a distraction in class. I imagine having a smart watch will be similarly distracting.
Having tech is a tradeoff. You may be getting convenience by having it, but at the expense (to some degree) of their education, social skills, and emotional health.
