We got him one once he hit Jr. High. We have it locked down to where we have to

approve any app that is downloaded (with a hard no social media rule) any contacts that are added, and have tried to lock down access to the internet, YouTube, etc. We also put downtime restrictions on the phone and have him check in the phone at night. So far we haven't had too much of an issue, but I do wish we could lock things down a little more than we can.
