them. Prior plays opposite/right side hitter, and Mortensen plays outside/leftside hitter. BYU brought in Blaykli Bobik for Prior at the end of the match with Lipscomb on Thursday and then started her vs. GT. Prior was having little to no impact against Lipscomb. She still has difficulty with timing her swings, adjusting to sets, and consistently hitting the ball solidly even in her third season of playing this position. Her blocking is also surprisingly not that great either in spite of her height. Bobik wasn’t great against Lipscomb, but she has more upside than Prior at this point. Her timing is already better and she adjusts more quickly to poor sets. She contacts the ball solidly and has shown the ability to hit both cross court and down the line with surety and velocity. She is a reliable option for a freshman setter that is up and down with her location. She does need to learn to take some off at times and vary her shot placement more frequently. I saw her do that at times in the Georgia Tech match and am very hopeful she will develop into a very good opposite this season.
