Retzlaff clearly thought there was a handoff and then was stuck with the ball in the backfield and had to suddenly turn upfield. Ball security is still ball security, but to get thrown out of your rhythm because teammates (possibly) messed up bad on the play design is understandable. You're out of rhythm on the play. Reminds me of a QB getting a snap into the dirt and then having to pick it up and decide what to do, getting hit, and fumbling...and blaming it on the QB. Yes, the QB fumbled it, but is he entirely to blame for that sequence of events that led to the fumble?

Same thing with the 2nd interception with the bizarre D lineman rising from the ground completely out of sight across the pass trajectory. I'm not even sure how you coach that. "Hey, make sure you also scan the ground for horizontal defensive lineman behind the collapsing pocket that might stand up."

I'm glad I don't play sports at that level and never did. The scrutiny, even after a win, is very needy here.
