I graduated from my BYU and ASU. And one day, about 10 years ago, I was in St. George, and I was wearing an ASU jacket, and a guy stopped me and said I went to your rival school.

I said, "Oh, you went to the U of A?"

"No. Utah."

Wait, what?

Utah is ASU's rival like Utah State is BYU's. No, even less so than that.

So, yeah, the Pac-12 schools didn't talk smack to Utah because they didn't care about Utah. Utah was just this new school that had joined their conference. But there were established rivalries of far greater concern for every team that had been in Pac-10 school than anything they had with Utah.
