I dropped my party off near the BYU tailgate (man did that meal ever suck--$25 IIRC for a stale waffle and some runny jam. I guess it's a fund raiser and all, but sheesh. Venue was sweet though). I then went to park the car and walked there myself, which meant probably 3/4 of a mile walk, by myself, right by the Oregon tailgates in all my BYU gear.
No one said at thing to me. On the way to the game with the 2 other dudes in my party, I got a couple "Welcome to Autzens." Some grungy looking guy held out his hand to high five me then said, "Yeah, go Oregon," and that was the full extent of anything resembling harrassment.
Of course, there was a tool in a Ute shirt in attendance.
I too sat in the BYU section but was essentially surrounded by as many Oregon as BYU fans. They were fine. We talked to them a bit. I started poking fun at our own pathetic performance, which seemed to endear me before we bailed early....
The game was awful. The long and fruitless road trip to get there was too. Voo Doo donuts was great, and perhaps the only highlight of a pathetic outing.
