Very well thought out. Wonderfully written peice,
Thank you for taking the time to write this.

I have been a BYU fan for many many years …. my sons and I have noticed something that is common for us.

Almost every year there is a point in either football or basketball season where we start looking forward to the next season. Usually in football, it would happen sometime in October. We would start looking towards Basketball

During basketball season sometime in February we would start looking for football articles. Usually, our Basketball interest would last a little longer because the nature of Basketball is a little different and every good team gets knocked off at least a couple of times by lesser competition. But after losing to someone like Pacific and Portland or Pepperdine in consecutive games, we would usually start looking for football articles. You could usually find some football chatter almost year round somewhere if you knew where to look. Basketball on the other hand ……was pretty hard to find round ball information during the off-season and so those were treasured little gems when you could find something written about 🏀 basketball.

The Kevin Young experience is different than anything I’ve ever witnessed. It is not just money. They say you can buy anything in this world with money. It takes something a lot more special than money to accomplish what Kevin Young has done and what he continues to do. I am not sure what the complete recipe is, but we better appreciate and enjoy every minute of it because something like this doesn’t happen to everyone and it doesn’t happen very often if ever.

It’s like all the planets and the stars and everything are coming together in PROvo. I don’t know why this is all happening right now …..I’m enjoying the ride. I wake up every morning looking to read or find something to be excited about and I’m usually not ever let down. I scour the Internet for articles about BYU basketball more than I have ever done. And here we are right in the middle of summer and I’m still doing it.

This is one of the best written things that I’ve read recently.

Thank you for taking the time to write this realistic piece.

Football is just a few weeks away. I’m not too excited. Hope I don’t have to hear about Dam Rising anymore …..I can’t wait for November to get here.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if football could somehow surprises us?

I love Kalani. I think he’s a great guy. I have met him at youth basketball games and he is so kind and nice and takes time to encourage the kids. I’ve talked to people on his sons basketball team and they talk about what a great father he is. He is supportive of the coaching and the team. Sits on the back row and doesn’t try to steal any of the limelight. He takes kids home after practice. All of the other parents and coaches talk about what a wonderful man that he is. I pray that Sitake can find success and somehow this BYU football team can be turned around. I wish he could have success. I honestly do not know if it can be duplicated in football what Kevin is doing.

I feel really bad for Sitake. How would you like to be compared to Kevin Young?

You know you ain’t no motel six. But you can see the new Ritz Carlton being built right across the street. Ouch!

If it were so easy to do what Kevin Young is doing…… why have not other people been doing it before?

You’re a good guy you like hanging out with all the good guys you knew the good guys they think you’re a good guy. You like to sleep in on Saturday throw some pork ribs on the smoker. You don’t always like to water the lawn or get all the weeds out of the flower bed, there’s a few dead spots in the lawn, but life is good. New neighbor moves in. He’s up before the sun working out in his in-home gym drinking a power protein shake, watering his lawn and manicuring the garden. There are no dead dried up spots in his lawn. That’s hard!

Mark Few is one of the best stories that I’ve ever seen out there. And it’s taken him 20+ years to do what he’s done with Gonzaga ……basically taking them from a, nobody to then kind of a Creighton type team and now to the Gonzaga that we see….. but this did not happen overnight. It took years and years of work.

I know it’s still early, but I’m hopping on the Kevin Young express! Buckle Up!
