My dad had some rough luck with finding and keeping jobs. I saw my mother cry almost every week while I was in high school. It took a toll on me.
It took a while to fully forgive and reconcile for the sadness and frustration it caused. I also appreciate the sacrifices they made to keep us in our amazing neighborhood. I don’t miss those feelings, but the overall experience taught me some valuable lessons and has definitely motivated me to make it so my children don’t have to feel the family pressure of financial struggle.
