something in your personal health could happen unexpectedly, and you could have to take daily medications to stay alive, or to just be able to function “normally”.
I know some of the most physically and mentally rough people I know, and have worked with, AND who are ex military that this applies to. And there was nothing they did to cause it to happen. Our bodies are mortal, and life just happens. Especially the older we get.
I used to be judgmental and critical of people who had to be on meds. Thought it was weak. Thought they were somehow less strong as me. I was young and moronic.
Your OP and follow ups are coming across like that man. Your employee had a seizure in the office. That’s horrible, and embarrassing for them. Sucks it inconveniences you and now you have to manage that aspect. I get it.
And I know managing people can suck and get so freaking tiresome. You can start asking yourself if they are grown adult employees, or children!?
And you can start to look at your people. as the enemy. Been there too. But you might want to take a step back, and reassess this situation, and ones like it in the future and past.
Upside down pyramid my man. You choose and wanted to be a leader. Gotta embrace both sides of it.
