known that the schools you mention — both corner canyon and the Utah county ones listed — all recruit to some extent or another which again doesn’t seem like much of a barometer for the youth leagues.

Many of the Ute conference districts have 3,4, 5 and sometimes 6 teams per age group for their district. Sports are largely a numbers game where with few exceptions, the programs with the greater number of participants and teams create the better competition — at least at the top level.

Ute conference does an RPI system where you play comparable teams so the best teams, are scheduled against the best teams. The struggling teams are scheduled with the struggling teams and everything in between.

I’m confident that the Utah county league has great teams but with it being considerably smaller it seems natural that there would be less overall talent and good teams simply based on numbers.
