I would imagine that as Coach Young was being courted, he was very upfront that Byu is currently not a destination school. They are not known for developing NBA talent and they are going to have to work harder and spend more upfront to get that flywheel turning. I would imagine the expectation is that after a few years of over spending to get highly talented kids to come to Byu and then developing those kids into high NBA prospects, The financial cost will decrease significantly because Coach will have proven himself and Byu as a top developer of NBA talent.
