program with comparably speaking minimal fan support. Thus, its harder for her to be able to put a high quality product on the court. The men's bball and football teams have top 25 fan support nationally, so that is a strong recruiting pitch to come experience that excitement. The women's team absolutely does not have that. They basically have the recruiting pitch of come being a student at a great university.
So they ought to be more patient with her when it comes to wins and losses on the court, but still expect her to get along well with the players.
I hope the AD knows all about each individual situation and supports Coach Whiting in her decisions for each, but its not a long term great play when the ethnic minorities are transferring out and our team just became almost completely white (we still have Mackey-Williams as a Kiwi to give us some small diversity). I think long term bball success will be influenced by being able to attract a more racially diverse set of recruits. Maybe those things are just coincidence this round and beyond her control, but she ought to be going above and beyond to help racial/ethnic minorities to have a positive experience at BYU.
