Final season standings don't use a tie-breaker, so more than one team can finish for a given spot.
For the conference tourney, there can only be one team for every seed. In that case tie-breakers are used to determine which team gets which seed.
Baylor could win out and ISU could lose out which would leave both at a record of 12-6 and they would tie for 2nd place. But the conference tie-breakers would determine which would have the 2nd seed and which would have the 3rd seed.
