If it's about hiking, then it's a tough choice. Look at various via ferrata

groups on the web. It's tough to beat the Dolomites with so many hikes and cable cars. And driving the Strada delle Dolomiti is just incredible - especially with a sunroof or convertible.

Also in the Dolomites, I would recommend this zip line in San Vigilio. At one point I was hangind something like 300+ feet above the valley. I went once and then took friends back a couple more times. So cool.

Also, if you are a hiker, you're close to Europe's highest peak in Mont Blanc, which is at the end of Valle d'Aosta and straddles the French border, which is beautiful - lots of castles. Lots of hikes around Mont Blanc, Courmayeur on the Italian side and Chamonix on the French side.
