Yes, that's the problem they have with the Utah base. The narrative that the Pac 12
was G5 caliber. That Utah's success in the P12 but struggles with OOC P5s would somehow indicate Utah struggling in the Big 12.
Part of that led to this silly belief that Utah wasn't going to get invited in the first place. Because Utes lacked the prestige to overcome the setback of sharing a market with BYU.
Now, everyone in CFB, outside the BYU and the Twitter B12 base, knew Utah was a prime target and a shoo in. Just as most would say Utah would likely be one of the top performing programs.
Especially since this season has turned the initial narrative on its head. The P12 will have a CFP contender. Utah lost 4 games to ranked teams in the P12 despite beating Florida and Baylor while missing several starters.
