The driver had only had her license for a couple of weeks (her parents should not have let her drive, but she was so excited about it). Somehow we started playing Jello on the way to the dance and drove around aimlessly to kill some time. She took an acute-angle left turn going about 35mph thinking it would be a great Jello move. We rolled the car and smashed into the curb. I was sitting directly in the window seat directly behind the driver. I lost consciousness for a moment upon impact, and when I woke up I could feel blades of grass on my face. My head must have barely missed the curb somehow, because the vehicle had skidded up near the sidewalk.
The driver's face was pinned against the roof of the vehicle as it was upside down and we had to lift part of the Jeep up in order for her to be pulled out. It was extremely scary for us 16 year-olds and the ambulances were there within minutes. Pretty much ruined the night but everybody ended up being okay.
I still get the feeling that we were divinely preserved that night.
