Adams State and I was blindsided on a block from a WR (crack back type block) and I was in immediate pain. I went with one of the trainers and figured it wasn't a huge deal as it was painful but nothing more. They took me via a cart into the training room and when I was there the head trainer met with me and the other trainer and asked what happened. The first trainer explained and said it was clear I had hurt my spleen. The head trainer asked the other trainer if it had ruptured. The younger trainer just kind of looked at her and said he didn't have any idea. The head trainer said well you don't need to worry now, had it ruptured he would be dead by now and that he should have called an ambulance immediately. I was hoping she was joking but she definitely wasn't and it freaked me out.
Anyway, I was fine as it was just swollen or bruised or something so I wasn't close to death, but I just looked at the younger trainer and was glad I didn't die because he was an idiot.
