It's the obvious answer: poor radio voice.
When I first heard his voice on Utah sports radio over a decade ago, I couldn't believe they let someone with his voice on the radio, let alone have a sports radio show. I couldn't believe it and was embarrassed for Utah.
Kudos to him for sticking for so long.
