Nothing was cancelled or really affected by covid until mid-March.
That means we got all of football season which is the biggest earner.
It also means we got all of regular season basketball, which is in the ESPN contract.
We did miss out on March Madness, but the distribution system for any revenue from March Madness is completely independent of BYU's contracts with ESPN or anyone else. That is all done through the NCAA and then distributed out to the conferences based on conference success over the last 6 years. Doesn't make a difference if we had a contract with ESPN, the mtn, or no contract at all. March Madness is sold separately.
So unless we're arguing that covid prevented the massive TV dollars from men's track from being counted, $4.32 million is basically the amount from ESPN, according to BYU's financial disclosures.
