To create charging current as you drive. But it seems strange to not just plug in if you're parked as others above have stated, due to loss of efficiency with wireless.

Charging an EV is hardly inconvenient but this is still a small bit of convenience that I think people will love.

Probably built to withstand that. But the inefficiency would be my bigger concern.
