You're missing the point. If an "expert" comes out guns a-blazing and arrogant, many people are turned off by that.
Right or wrong. They are skeptical.
We have a guy here on CB (I can't remember his username) that is so sure climate scientists are infallible and there's NO way they are wrong, it comes off as completely arrogant. He refuses to even think he might be wrong. And that causes skepticism.
