Just looking at KenPom, here are the average rankings of teams in these conferences this year (without Gonzaga). Many consider this the worst MWC in years yet the WCC is almost as close to the WAC as they are to the MWC.

Last year wasn't a great year for the MWC but the WCC was closer to the Big Sky, WAC and Big West than they were to the MW.

This is the year that BYU joined the WCC and the WCC was sandwiched between the WAC and Big West with the MWC a big step up.

The WCC has Gonzaga that has their history and St Mary's that's been good as long as Bennett has been there. The rest of the conference would fit right in with the other conferences that I listed.
