Interesting. I'm just going off the reports I've heard that it was a
"broken back" and he needed to be shot up with cortisone and pain killers to get on the field.
Playing with an injury that requires pain killers (beyond ibuprofen) sets you up for injury because you can't feel your body's warnings against furthering injury (or injuring a different but connected area).
