Jake was a solid guy all the way around. Smart, but unassuming. There were lots of smart people in our class that went out of their way to let you know how smart they were with their comments, updates on their interviews, etc. Jake was not pretentious at all, just worked hard and excelled. Most of us didn't know how well he was doing at school until interviews when he locked up one of the best positions available while many of the "smartest" and most vocal students were scrambling for unpaid internships. Jake was humble about his success and abilities.
