When you're single, you have the liberty of adjusting your focus. You can let your dating life sit still for a few months while you work on a particular class or something. Married people and parents have irrevocable responsibilities to other people. Your wife gets ill, your class has to wait while to tend to her. Your kid is up all night barfing or scared of a ghost, you have to go deal with that, even if you should be sleeping or studying instead. Not to even mention all of the $$$.
