But since people still perceive that it matters, then it matters. It may be a lot easier for an HR dept to set a GPA standard and leave it at that, but hopefully one day they'll realize they're missing out on great people below that line and hiring some total yewts above that line. It's going to take a long time for that perception to change though, so until it does people are going to take easy classes and easy instructors to inflat their GPA.
