But this isn't to say that he wasn't the strongest hire available to BYU for this moment - I believe he was - but the fact that Whitt knows his offense is in bad shape and that he needs a steady experienced hand at the tiller going forward (bonus for being one that drives a deeper wedge between BYU and its football alumni) is not evidence that the Anae Theory doesn't have a basis.
