1) Great Recruiter. Duh. We all know that. But he’s not just good at persuading them and bribing them with money. People are coming to BYU because of BYU and because of KY. You don’t get that much nowadays. People have reasons to ball at Brigham Young because of KY.

2) Needs to be more emotional. He’s touched on this that he is too nice and doesn’t complain to the refs enough. I think this is a little problem. I have experience as a basketball ref and I can say that I slightly favor teams with mean coaches. Every ref does. They’re scared.

3) Honest. He tells the truth to reporters, players, fans etc. Even if it’s harsh he will let you hear it.

4) Still working on chemistry with the team. This will come over time but Pope felt like he was friends with all the players. KY is their coach

I think he’s a great coach but definitely has room to improve. He’s got potential and I’m pumped for the future in PROvo
