Italy or France? Planning a trip Mar 16-31 with the grandkids, 17 Boy & 14 Girl

The HCBW and I are leaning slightly towards Italy, but driving around France is fun. Never been to Italy, What are the best things/places to see there?

Is two weeks long enough to see the all of Italy or should we concentrate on a couple regions?

Rent a car or use public transportation?

Other big considerations we should know about?

Purely for weather, I’d say Italy. If it was a summer trip, id say France
