My wife and I have been fortunate enough to never have really needed to budget. We max both our 401ks and IRAs each year, pay tithing, and then after that it’s been very laissez faire and we put aside a bit each month to maintain a healthy emergency savings account.
We just had our first child a few weeks ago, and my wife is starting to talk about not wanting to go back to work, which I’m excited about. However, she has hesitations about how that impacts our finances.
I want to start putting together a budget to show how we can make it work, but that it will just require some moderate budgeting discipline.
So wise CB, how do you budget and then track your spending? Apps, systems, bank account/CC setup, etc.?
Thanks in advance!
Mods, apologies if this is in the wrong category. Feel free to update! I don’t see a finances category.
