When asked if he was confident in another miracle game winning drive he says “Yeah, of course, but we need to stop that. We need to start beating teams by 20 points, 30 points, because that’s the type of offense we have.”
Well no duh! Did you honestly believe all the “team of destiny” garbage and think you could play with fire multiple games this season but it would be okay because you have full confidence that the miracles would keep coming?
He goes on to say that they didn’t practice well and struggled in the red zone all week. “We’ll have to practice with more urgency.” Well again, no duh. After the way the Utah game went I would have thought that was obvious.
Stop reading your own press clippings, stop doing TV interviews all the time, stop thinking it’s okay to come from behind or win by just a few points. Dick Vermeil always told his teams, “You can’t ease into a street fight.” So stop doing that and go out there and destroy teams and win by 20 or 30 points. It should not have taken a loss like this to learn that lesson.
