dropped the ball before entering the end zone, did the ball just not get picked up by anyone before the the play was ruled over?
If an ISU player pounced on it, would it have been a touchback for ISU, but none of their players realized it was still live and failed to jump on it? So it was just given to UCF at the 1 yard line?
Why does it go back to the offense at that point, but if it rolls out of the end zone it is considered a touchback to the other team?
It seems like as much as we are seeing this now, players would be told to just always jump on the ball when it lies in the end zone, even if it seemed like the player carried it in.
I guess at the same time there needs to be an emphasis to players scoring touchdown to never drop it either, but hand it to ref.
