El Presidente 3rd String
Just took my daughter the dentist. She is 10 and they said she has five
cavities that need to be filled. The cavities are all in baby molars, and look very minor to me. I’m not a dentist, but I’ve seen enough x rays over the years that I have a rudimentary understanding.

Is it really necessary to take care of these since they are baby molars?

I should mention this same dentist is trying to get me to have a crown done. There is no cavity and no pain. He said there is a crack and a rough edge.

He also tries to up-sale everything, like getting “buffering medication” in addition to regional anesthesia. I asked the hygienist what the buffering medication is and she gave me this handout that showed a molecule. She gave all this fancy talk about it and I look at the sheet and see that it is sodium bicarbonate. I asked, “it’s baking soda?” The nurse said she wasn’t sure what I was talking about. I’m not saying it won’t help, but probably not worth $115.
