I'll take that to mean that there are many on here who believe that he should have been benched after his turnovers.
The problem with that is this. If Jake is the best option at quarterback this season, benching a quarterback In the middle of a game when you were right in it the whole time would not only be stupid but it would quite probably destroy the psyche of that quarterback permanently.
The fact is that none of you know what Jake was told on the sideline after his turnovers. And the problem also is that as a coach you have to balance criticism with saying things that will keep the quarterbacks head in the game.
Jake certainly struggled last night, and if those struggles continue with Bohannon as a very capable backup the backup will get his shot.
I know that the current scapegoat for the team is A-Rod, But sticking with Retzlaff through his foibles yesterday was absolutely the right decision. And I didn't see a whole lot of credit being given to Jake when he did make some pretty dang big plays that helped BYU win the game.
BYU was at 11.5 point dog, and won. Just let that sink in a bit.
