I don’t think Walmart or Qualtrics does anything even closely to similar. Goldman, Blackstone, and others have thrived due to careful manipulation of political power and manipulation of their stakeholders (not I didn’t say shareholders). I could go on with situations I was involved in with a variety of these types of firms. This isn’t as simple as “returning value to shareholders” as you suggest.
