Personally, the hardest was one day receiving a letter from
a guy I knew very well from back in Ohio when we were YAs together. He was asking for his name to be removed from the Church. He never would have imagined that I one day I would have been the individual receiving that letter on behalf of the Church. It was very saddening to me.

The scariest letter I ever received was one addressed to Elder Neuenschwander of the 70. It was a card shaped envelope and I had opened probably 25-35 letters before that and I was probably just opening letters in a "rote" mode, not expecting anything. It looked pretty normal. It was a friend of his and I don't believe he knew mail was inspected before it went to the individual. It was a popsicle stick contraption that had rubber bands and as soon as you opened it, it came flying out of the envelope spinning in all directions and making all kinds of noise and motion. I about had a heart attack. The other two who were with me about died as well as I think I screamed as I flew back to save my life.

I called Elder Neuenschwander to let him know that he could tell his acquaintance that the letter achieved every affect that he had intended.
