If they didn't think he had any redeemable skill/talent, they would not have
traded for him. Its that simple... He wasn't "free", he wasn't even particularly "cheap" unless you think he has the ability to make a turn around.
No one is saying the Bronco's think he is a super star and will save them, but they absolutely did not have to trade for him or pay him what they are going to pay him, but they willingly chose to do so, because they think he can play ball
