Reality is missions aren't good for athletes and their games. It takes a long time to get back in shape and you never know as a school what is going to happen to a player in 2 years.

Main reason why you don't see other teams wanting players to do that.

Even in football it is less common, but seems easier, maybe because bigger roster, or just different positions.

I get why BYU will always be ok with this but as a fan I want my team to be the best they can be. Missionaries don't help with that.
