at the rate an Indiana or Duke actually qualify for bowl games do you think they hinge their recruiting tactics on convincing players they'll make a bowl game?
At least with pre-scheduled/guaranteed games on ESPN it could be a recruiting tool.
BTW - Duke has 8 bowl games in their entire history - only 2 since the great Lavell was hired at BYU...
Indiana has been to 9 bowl games in their entire history - 8 of which have come since Lavell was hired. The late 80's early 90's were very good to them as 6 of their bowl games came in an 8 year stretch from 1986-1993.
Then again - I'm not thinking PAC/B1G are likely for late in the season anyway. Add in the fact that I don't see proof of BYU ever signing a H/H with any B1G Ten team (while they were a B1G Ten team) I'm not exactly sure it will be happening any time soon.
NOTE: PSU was played H/A in 1991-1992 but was likely signed a year or 2 before that when PSU was still Independent...
