On Doman liking Nelson
There is some truth to that information but it's also seriously dated -
Doman did favor starting Nelson early in the year - this is a fact - but it was primarily with an eye to protecting Heaps and bringing him along slowly, not because he thought Riley would be a better QB. There are plenty pro-Heaps partisans who had the same thinking. It's also true - though the opposite has become a kind of article of faith among the Sack Anae crew (of which, it seems, I am a part) that Anae actually wanted to start Heaps from the beginning. I'm sure that will surprise many as it did me, but it's the truth.
