Dementia is such a tough way to end your life
Went to visit my aunt who’s had dementia for a couple years now. Over the last few weeks her memory has gone completely off a cliff. When drove over I saw her standing on the sidewalk. I jokingly asked her if she was waiting for the ice cream truck. She said, “no, I’m waiting for a ride to the hospital to see my dad”. Her dad died over 40 years ago. Then she refers to her husband as the man who shot her father. Her father died of a heart attack in the 80s. Then she pointed to a picture of my brother who passed away when we were kids, and she said “that’s my son”. She didn’t have any kids her whole life. So sad to see her like this
