Didn't get a chance to write this up, but went to brunch about 1:00 or so and ended up with a table right next to them. I immediately recognized former Gopher Logan Cooley as the server was seating us, so as we were walking by, I stopped and said "hi" and told them it was nice to meet them but I hoped they lost to the Blackhawks. They were all pretty low key and laughed at the idea of losing to the Hawks. Not wanting to bother them further, I wished them luck in Sunday's game and left to enjoy my brunch. The other guys at the table were Kesselring, Doan, and Carbone. They all seemed like nice guys.
The whole thing was all so random. I didn't expect to run into any pro athletes at the OPH in Gold Coast, particularly when there are much more trendy places surrounding it (anyone from Chicago will know what I'm talking about). Also, the chances of me recognizing visiting team players is much lower than the already minuscule likelihood of me recognizing anyone on the current Hawks roster other than Bedard and the two Gophers who just debuted over the weekend.
