Things your grandparents ate during the Great Depression: My grandma says that
their go to breakfast was milk on stale bread. Bread would go stale, but you wouldn't throw it out, you'd put in a bowl of milk and have it for breakfast. But more than that - you'd do it with a bowl of POWDERED milk, bc you couldn't afford the real milk. I don't even know how powdered milk is supposed to work.

Liverwurst was apparently a thing - I guess all the organs have to be used when everyone is dirt poor (which is probably why SPAM first emerges in the late depression era). Had liverwurst on my mish was sooo disgusting.

My grandpa was a cowboy up near Kamas and Oakley in the early 30s (before going to California to apprentice as a jeweler) and says they'd basically hunt and eat anything w meat on its bones back in 30-31 bc the cattle itself was too valuable of commodity. Says he ate everything from squirrel to mountain lions to rattlesnake.

Anywhooo, this is me as a pointless attendee on a conference call that is pretty useless.
