UConn's championship team from 2024 had the following in their rotation who played 10+ minutes per game: 6'5", 6'4", 6'8", 6'6", 7'2", 6'2", 6'10", 6'3"
UConn's championship team from 2023 had the following in their rotation who played 10+ minutes per game: 6'5", 6'6", 6'8", 6'5", 6'9", 6'4", 6'3", 7'2", 6'2"
Then from the Final Four teams this year:
- Duke = 6'9", 6'7", 6'6", 6'6", 7'2", 6'9", 6'6", 6'6", 6'5", 6'11"
- Florida = 6'3", 6'4", 6'2", 6'11", 6'9", 6'5", 6'10", 7'1", 6'8"
- Auburn = 6'10", 6'6", 6'4", 6'7", 6'7", 6'1", 6'5", 6'6"
- Houston = 6'1", 6'4", 6'8", 6'3", 6'8", 6'6", 6'3", 6'8", 6'5"
Obviously athleticism, wingspan, and experience also matter. But these teams play at most 2 guys who were shorter than 6'4" in their regular rotation.
Given BYU has lost 3 wing-type players to graduation in Mag, Knell, and Stewart as well as Catchings to the portal, BYU is going to need to load up on high caliber wing players this offseason. AJ is obviously first, who is 6'9". Then we recently signed Dominique who is 6'7", and I hope the rumors regarding 6'7" Gabriel Pozzato are also true. There's frankly room for at least one more 3-and-D type player, especially if Richie Saunders ends up going pro. There will still be room to sign one more PG and one more big man.
